VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

To date, many volunteers have served the Plantation Police Department in a wide range of responsibilities.  Positions are available primarily during business hours Monday-Friday with some opportunities available during evening and weekend hours.  With your support, we can work to make Plantation a safer place in which to work, live and play.

* Men and women of all ages
* All law abiding citizens of Florida
* Those candidates who successfully meet the selection criteria of the Plantation P.D.

 

Where do Volunteers Work?

* Plantation Police Department (451 NW 70th Terrace, Plantation)
* Community Outreach Centers at the Broward and Fashion Malls
* At special events
* In the community
* In the citizen's observer patrol

 

Volunteer Areas Include:

* Associate Explorer Advisor - working with area students
* Clerical Support - general office duties
* CRIME LINE Assistant - clerical support duties
* Crime Prevention Assistant - telephone work with victims of crime
* Criminal Intake Assistant - logging and tracking case paperwork
* Payroll Assistant - payroll reconciliation and accounting assistance
* Property and Evidence Assistant - data entry duties
* Reception Desk Assistant - welcome and direct visitors
* Special Activities Volunteer - assist with surveys/one time projects
* Volunteer Program Assistant - work with volunteer coordinator
* Witness Management - processing subpoenas and other paper work

* Other Assistance as needed by the department
