The Plantation Volunteer Fire Association logoThe Plantation Volunteer Fire Association is responsible for providing personnel to staff the Plantation Fire Department.

Established in 1957, the Fire Association has upheld a long-standing tradition of neighbor helping neighbor. This spirit is as true and as strong today as it was at back then, when a small group of 17 community-minded citizens formed the association.

Today the Plantation Volunteer Fire Association has more than 225 members. The membership is involved in many activities including our own Care-A-Little Program, which works with school-aged children who need assistance with self-esteem and moral support.

The annual BBQ,The organization hosts two fundraisers each year: The Annual Golf Tournament, which is held in the summer, and the famous 51-year old Annual BBQ, held each November. As part of the nearly half-century tradition, City-wide event is held in honor of former Mayor, past Fire Chief and Head Chef, Frank Veltri and features his STILL secret sauce.

Our roster boasts a membership of men and women with diverse cultural and professional backgrounds. Our members are accountants, pharmacists, nurses, auto mechanics, teachers, housewives, househusbands and so many more.
