Officers arrest burglary suspects

On May 22, 2009 at approximately 10:45 pm officers responded to the 5400 block of S.W. 18 Street in reference to a residential burglary attempt that had just occurred. The victim advised that the suspect(s) fled from her residence in a black Honda coupe with dark tinted windows. While enroute to the area, Officer J. Schlegel observed a black Honda traveling eastbound on Peters Road. He followed the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop in the 800 block of S. State Road 7. The three occupants of the vehicle were contacted and interviewed. The victim was transported to the scene of the traffic stop, where she positively identified the vehicle as the one that she saw leave her residence. The two juvenile suspects, after giving several false statements, admitted to attempting to burglarize the victim’s home. All three suspects were taken into custody and their vehicle was towed. The adult suspect (driver) was charged with Being an Accessory After the Fact and Driving While License Suspended and was transported to BSO jail. The two juveniles were charged with Burglary and Providing False Statements and transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center.

On May 22, 2009 at approximately 1:15 pm, officers responded to the 5300 block of S.W. 20 Street in reference to a residential burglary that had just occurred. The victim advised that two male suspects were on her back patio and appeared to be attempting to gain entry into her house. When the suspects saw that the home was occupied, they ran from the home in an unknown direction. While enroute to the area, Officer J. Diaz observed a dark blue Land Rover traveling northbound on S.W. 53 Avenue. He alerted other officers in the area and Officer K. Gomez conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle in the 1500 block of S.W. 54 Avenue. The occupants of the vehicle were detained and the victim was transported to the scene of the traffic stop, where she positively identified the suspects as the ones that she saw at her residence. The suspects were taken into custody and their vehicle was towed. They were both charged with Burglary and transported to BSO jail.
